What You Receive With International Shipping

Our international shipping service covers three lanes: US cross-border trucking via the Alberta–Montana and Saskatchewan–North Dakota crossing points, with customs broker coordination included in the standard service; LCL and FCL ocean freight from Vancouver and Prince Rupert to major Asia-Pacific and European ports; and air freight consolidation from Calgary International Airport (YYC) for time-sensitive, low-weight cargo. Each international shipment is assigned a dedicated file manager who coordinates origin pickup, export documentation, carrier booking, and destination customs clearance. Transit time estimates are provided at booking with best-case and realistic-case scenarios stated side by side — we do not quote best-case only. Standard transit to US coastal cities is five to eight business days via cross-border truck; ocean FCL to Shanghai averages 22–26 days ex-Vancouver.

Three International Freight Modes, Fully Coordinated

Each mode is backed by vetted carrier partnerships and active exception management from our Calgary team.

US Cross-Border

Dedicated lanes from Calgary to Seattle, Denver, Chicago, and Dallas. ISF filing, PAPS/PARS documentation, and bond coverage are handled by our integrated customs broker, with no third-party handoff required from your side.

Ocean Freight

LCL consolidations departing Vancouver every Tuesday and Friday; FCL bookings on 48-hour lead time. Door-to-port and door-to-door options available, with real-time vessel tracking shared in your client portal from sailing to discharge.

Air Freight

Consolidation and direct AWB options from YYC for cargo under 500 kg that cannot wait for ocean sailing schedules. Dangerous goods pre-clearance available for IATA Class 9 products with 72-hour advance notice.

What International Shipping Does Not Cover

Vividfforge does not currently offer freight forwarding to Africa, the Middle East, or South America under our standard service agreements; shipments to those regions require an individual quotation and extended lead times. Import customs brokerage (inbound to Canada) is handled by a partner firm and may carry additional fees not included in our standard freight quote — these are always disclosed at the quotation stage. Controlled goods, dual-use technology, and items requiring an Export Permit under Canada's Export and Import Permits Act must be reviewed by our compliance team before booking confirmation. We raise these constraints upfront because international logistics contains regulatory variables that neither our clients nor Vividfforge can fully control; transparency about limits is part of how we operate.

“Our first FCL to Busan had an unexpected vessel schedule change at Vancouver. Vividfforge's file manager called us within the hour with two alternative sailing options and updated ETAs. That kind of proactive communication is exactly what we needed — not a form email two days later.”
